Nursery (babies and toddlers)

A nursery is available on Sunday mornings for the youngest ones among us.  A St Paul volunteer is there with the children in the nursery.  We encourage and welcome children to be present with us in worship.  However, the nursery is there if parents or children need it.

Children's Church (up to 6th grade)

Young children are welcome to participate in Children’s Church on Sunday mornings.  This takes place during the service from after the children’s message time to the beginning of communion (approximately 20-25 minutes) – which gives parents time to focus on the sermon.  Children’s church is led by one or two St Paul volunteers.  The children have a brief Bible study that often includes a craft and a visit from Chester the Squirrel or some of his other friends in our puppet ministry.  The children return to the sanctuary to receive a blessing at communion, and then they finish up their lesson.

First Communion (1st grade and up)

First communion classes are offered for children in first grade and up with parental approval.  The curriculum used is “Fed and Forgiven” from Augsburg Fortress.  The material is age appropriate and teaches four different lessons about communion: 1) God Cares for Us, 2) Jesus Gave Us a Special Meal, 3) Jesus Is With Us in Communion, and 4) Jesus Offers Enough for All. To schedule a first communion class, please contact Pastor Lammi.

Vacation Bible School (PreK - 6th grade)

Vacation Bible School takes place in the summer and is offered for all children up through those who just completed sixth grade.  This multi-day event helps the kids learn different Bible stories relating to a single theme.  It involves story time, crafts, music, games, snacks, science – and, more importantly, a whole bunch of love from many St Paul volunteers.  Details about specific dates and theme for VBS will be posted on this website each spring.

Easter Egg Hunt (PreK – 6th grade)

On Easter Sunday every year, children from PreK to 6th grade participate in an Easter egg hunt.

Confirmation (7th - 9th grades)

The confirmation class at St Paul is a three-year program for students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades.  Taught by Pastor Lammi from 6:30pm-7:30pm on Sunday evenings, this class uses the Augsburg Fortress "Here We Stand" curriculum.  Over the course of the three years, the students study Luther's Small Catechism, the Old Testament, and the New Testament.  Class sessions include Bible study, a quiz show, video clips, games, and more.  The class also participates in different service projects throughout the year.

Youth (7th - 12th grades)

The youth at St Paul gather periodically to participate in various activities which often have a Bible study connected to them. Friends are always welcome!

Christmas Pageant (All ages)

The Christmas pageant at St Paul is open to children of all ages.  Practice for the pageant typically begins in late October or early November during the children’s church time on Sunday mornings.  The pageant is then shown to the whole congregation sometime in mid-December.
