• Kurt Lammi - Pastor

    Pastor Lammi began serving St. Paul Lutheran Church in October 2008.  Originally from Troy, Ohio (which is less than 20 miles north of St. Paul), Pastor Lammi has always been actively involved in the Lutheran church.  He has participated in the life of a number of congregations, served two different outdoor ministries, and served as a bed and breakfast host at Holden Village (a Lutheran sponsored but ecumenical retreat center in the Cascade Mountains of Washington state).  He earned his bachelor’s degree in religion from Capital University, a master’s degree in religion from Syracuse University, and a master’s of divinity degree from The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia.  He has also published a book entitled Bread for Beggars: An Anthology of Christian Poetry.  He lives in Vandalia with his wife, Rachel, their daughter, Rose, and their cat, Belvedere.     e-mail

  • David Latta - Organist

    David Latta has been the organist at St. Paul since June 1978 and became a member in the early 1980s.  He also served with several choir directors before taking on the director position himself.  He has been a part of many changes in the music ministry at St. Paul.  The choir has grown tremendously and the church purchased a new organ in 2004.  He has served with six full-time pastors and three interim pastors at St Paul. David retired from Vandalia-Butler City Schools in 2007 where he was an elementary teacher and Curriculum Specialist.  He is currently an adjunct professor at Antioch McGregor in Yellow Springs.

  • Marianna Moore - Assistant Organist

    Marianna's ties with St. Paul Lutheran Church began when she was a little girl, and she has been a member ever since, except for 13 years when she was living in Donnelsville, Ohio (1970-1983).  She began taking piano lessons at the age of six, and took them for 10 years (one year at the University of Dayton).  At the age of 16, she became the organist at St. Paul until she moved to Donnelsville. 
    Marianna now plays for the 8:00a.m. service on Sunday mornings (not during the summer).  She takes great pleasure in playing the piano and enjoys working with David Latta.

  • Alyssa Springer - Choir Director

    Alyssa (Brown) Springer has been the choir director at St Paul since Sep 2011.  A member of St. Paul since her family moved to Dayton in 1985, Alyssa has sung with the St. Paul choir as her schedule would allow since graduating college. A Vandalia native, she is a 2001 graduate of Butler High School and, with a degree in vocal music education, a 2006 graduate of Ohio University. Alyssa has been teaching middle school choir since 2006.  She taught at Mad River Middle School from 2007 to 2012 and is now teaching in West Carrollton. She is excited to be working with David and Marianna and thrilled for this artistic and professional challenge.

  • Pam Van Hoose - Secretary

    Pam has been an active member of St Paul since 2003 and has been serving as office secretary since fall 2015.  She is grateful for the privilege of serving as secretary and sincerely appreciates the encouragement her fellow believers have given to her.  She strives to serve Jesus in all that she does, not only through her office ministry, but also through volunteer work in the community and freelance artwork.     e-mail

  • Cathy Krizner - Financial Secretary

    Cathy has been a life-long member of St. Paul. She is the third generation of the Snow family here. She is a graduate of Wittenberg University, with a degree in Accounting. She has been married to Scott since 1988 and has four daughters. In addition to serving as financial secretary, she is active in WELCA, a member of the choir, a Sunday School teacher, and a VBS teacher.

  • Dottie Sammons - Treasurer

    Dottie Sammons has been a member of St. Paul since 1986 when she and her family (husband Bob and children Melissa, Jenna, and Jonathan) transferred their membership.  Dottie, a native of the Dayton area, graduated from Capital University with a major in Sociology and Social Work.  She retired from Montgomery County Children Services after 33 years of employment as a caseworker and later as a member of management.

    Dottie likes serving her church by using her God given talents.  In addition to serving as Treasurer, Dottie is a member of Altar Guild.  Dottie also has a number of interests which include sewing, reading and working in her yard.  Her greatest joy though is spending time with her 4 grandchilden.  Matthew helps her in the yard, and Natalie is developing Grandma’s love of sewing.  Sam and Meghan love to eat out, just like Grandma.

  • Mark and Marcie Griffin - Custodians

    Mark and Marcie Griffin are lifelong Lutherans who joined St Paul in 2010 and feel this is where God wants them to be.  They are here to serve the Lord by using their time and talents, and serving as the custodians is just one of many ways they do this.  Mark enjoys creating natural wood art, reading, and remodeling the house.  Marcie enjoys baking, reading, weaving, and making fairy houses
